Jorge Alberto de Jesus Mancilla

Funeral services for Jorge Alberto de Jesus Mancilla, 83, of Wylie, were held Sept. 30, 2011, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. 
Mr. Mancilla died Sept. 26 in Wylie.
He was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Valera, Edo. Trujillo, Venezuela to Pedro Luis and Elena Mancilla.
He graduated from La Universidad Central de Venezuela with a civil engineer degree. According to family members, his hobbies included traveling, calculating probabilities of lotto numbers, going to the race tracks at The Lone Star Park and attending ESL classes.
Survivors include his sons, Pedro, Jorge, Agustin and Jonathan; daughters, Berta Elena, Iris, Patricia and Karina; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Hilda, Isabel and Maria Auxiliadora.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Pedro Luis and sister, Ana Teresa.
 
Billy Ray Myrick
Funeral services for Billy Ray Myrick, 80, of Parker, will be held Oct. 13, 2011, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fitzhugh Cemetery. 
Pastor Brock Boggs will officiate.
Mr. Myrick died Oct. 8 in Dallas.
He was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Parker to the late Leonard Houston Myrick and Winnie Bell Spence Myrick. He married Virginia Nell Johnson May 31, 1958, in Beaumont.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his son, John Myrick and his wife Katy of Richardson; daughter, Phyllis Stake and her husband Richard of Parker; sister, Wanda Jean Cheek of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
 
Nora Kate (Testerman) Smith
Funeral Services for Nora Kate Smith, 86, were held Sept. 16, 2011, at First Baptist Church Wylie with Pastor Emeritus Al Draper officiating and Pastor Jim Everidge assisting. Interment followed at the Wylie Cemetery.
Nora went home to be with our Lord on Sept. 13, 2011, in Anna with the family by her side.
Nora was born to the Rev. and Mrs. Charles E. Testerman on April 20, 1925, in Kylesford, Tenn. Soon thereafter the family moved to Hugo, Okla., where she was raised on a farm. She grew up in a Christian home, attended church regularly, and was saved and baptized Aug. 12, 1937. 
She attended Hugo High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart Clifton Truitt Smith on Feb. 1, 1944. He served in the Navy in World War II.  Following his service tenure, they moved to Wylie, where they raised their four children. She was widowed after 44 years of loving marriage. She later married Rev. Clyde McCord in 1988 and was widowed again after three years. 
She loved and served the Lord throughout her entire life, always involved in the activities and ministries of First Baptist Church, Wylie for as long as she was able to attend.  She was active in Happy Circle, Silver Chords and area senior centers, and was a member of the Jane Douglas Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 
She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and traveling. A lifelong homemaker, she relished every opportunity to spend time with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Nora is preceded in death by her two husbands and grandson Danny Smith. She is survived by her children, Kenny Smith and wife Patrecia, Reba Raney and husband Ty, Freta Villanueva and husband Richard, John Smith and wife Suzann; brothers Curt Testerman and Jack Testerman; sisters Evelyn “Nell” Gant and Ethel Lewis; 11 grandchildren, Michael Smith, Chad Raney, Keri Jones, Sheila Adams, Bobbye Villanueva, Kyle Villanueva, Melanie Alderman, Sarah Kemper, Richard Villanueva III, Shelby Smith and Tucker Smith; and 12 great-grandchildren.
 
Michael Dean Gray
A graveside service for Michael Dean Gray, 36, of Wylie, was held Oct. 10, 2011, at Restland Memorial Park.
Pastor Scott Phillips officiated.
Mr. Gray died Oct. 8 in Wylie.
He was born June 2, 1975, in Garland to Michael Downey Gray and Brenda Marlene Hoffard Gray.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Brenda Gray of Wylie; sister, Robin Michele Gray of Wylie; grandparents, Le Roy and Marlene Hoffard of Greenville; and nieces, Haley Michele Gray and Morgan Leann Shaulis of Wylie.
Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
 
Charles Edward Spence
Graveside services for Charles Edward Spence, 80, of Rowlett, were held Oct. 8, 2011, at the Cottonwood Cemetery.
Minister Eric Hogue
officiated.
Mr. Spence died Oct. 3 in Garland.
He was born May 10, 1931, in Wylie to the late Charlie Sidney Spence and Ruby Fay Martin Spence.  He was a member of the Cottonwood Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son, Terry Lynn Spence; brothers, Rodney Spence and Wallace Spence; sisters, Pearl Moss and Fay Foster; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
