ALLEN - The Lady Panthers sure don't like doing things the easy way.

In less than a month, they have played two stress-filled playoff games against district foes, first beating Flower Mound 3-2 in eight innings during a regional quarterfinal and then holding off Hebron 5-4 in the Region I final last Friday at Allen.

The latter victory put them into the state tournament in Austin, which commences 3 p.m. Friday with a semi-final game between East and Klein Collins at the University of Texas' Red and Charline McCombs Field. The other game, which takes place after the first contest at the same stadium will have Northside O'Conor play Deer Park.
